In general, the current situation of stray dogs in Greece is much better than 20 years ago, but still needs to be improved. Due to the general economic situation in Greece, strays no longer find food easily outside restaurants or cafes and fewer people put food and water on the street than before. For this reason our partners are very busy not only feeding the animals in the shelters but also on the streets.
They even put sick and injured animals in their shelters for recovery and in order for veterinarians to see them. Apart from the psychological burden, there is also the financial burden that is difficult to deal with.
Apart from feeding the animals, it is also very important for strays to be healthy, to be vaccinated and dewormed so that the inhabitants are not afraid to approach them, but also to be treated with greater leniency.
